Call me neurotic about blankets but.?
Ok, before anyone says “horses don’t need blankets”, thank you for your opinion but that’s not going to fly in this situation.
My TB has no hair, I mean super slick – and he hasn’t been under lights either. I had to start putting blankets on him because there is no hair and with having major surgery, he doesn’t need more stress on his system. I have one of those HorseWare fleeces on him and a medium weight stable blanket and he is cold – hair is on end. The weather is about 16F here and supposed to drop to 9F tomorrow. Here’s my question – I’m considering going and buying him a new heavy weight blanket tomorrow because I **** to think he’s cold. I’d prefer not to spend $200 on another blanket but there’s nothing more miserable than being cold on top of dealing with his duff leg – should I leave him as is or get a new heavy weight?
He’s off the Banamine now. I’m going to have to take and pay whatever the local stores have on offer as I can’t wait for an online order to arrive.
